Where no animal is unwanted.

Bring home a new family member.

We find homes for those we can and we are home for those we can’t.

We rescue horses, ponies, chickens, goats, ducks, guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs and cats.

Meet Our Animals

  • Fuzzy Face

Fuzzy Face and his brother Blue will be available for adoption in mid-July.

  • Blue

Blue and his brother Fuzzy Face with be available for adoption in mid-July.

  • Buster

This little guy was rescued from a puppy mill. He didn’t know what grass or sand was, and he was terrified of children. It took 4 months to get over his fear. Now he loves to swim and get dirty. He is in charge of all the big dogs!

  • Max

Max had been locked in a building when the people moved out. He was there for almost 3 weeks with no food or water, and tried to chew his way out. Now he has no front teeth and has to eat a special diet. He will live out his remaining days here at Highland Farm Rescue.

  • Henrietta

Our one-legged hen lives in the barn and outdoor office area. She can’t keep up with the other hens, but she lays an egg on Max’s chair every day!

  • Benny

Benny was rescued from the woods at Jennings Forest. Here he is on his favorite lumber pile, hoping for a mouse.

  • Banjo

Banjo is getting his nails done for the Middleburg Christmas parade.

  • Stanley

This lovable oaf was in danger of euthanasia at a county shelter because he was heartworm positive and had some skin tumors. Now he’s the happiest boy on the farm, and everybody loves him, critters and people alike.

  • Starlight

Starlight is the mother of Fuzzy Face and Blue. We took her in from the parking lot of a local grocery store, and she had the babies under the back seat of our truck!
